Benefits of Sir Grange Zoysia

Sir Grange Zoysia suits all situations, whether that be full-sun or high shade! Once established, Sir Grange has a high drought tolerance which is a very important consideration for residential and commercial lawns.

Sir Grange Zoysia grass has a high traffic tolerance with it’s excellent trait of self-repairing once the root zone is established to a depth of 200mm plus.

Sir Grange Zoysia only requires 3 hours of direct sunlight per day, as Sir Grange becomes older it’s tolerance to high shade increases more, allowing it to handle more shade and less sunlight.

Sir Grange is also a low-allergenic grass, it has a soft fine leaf texture!

How Does it Compare With Other Common Turf Varieties?

Sir Grange Zoysia VS Sir Walter – these two varieties are extremely close competitors! Both have excellent shade tolerance, weed and pest resistance. Their performance overall is equal with the choice coming down to overall buyer preference. The main difference between both is Sir Grange is a finer leaf and Sir Walter is broad.

Sir Grange V Sir Walter

Sir Grange Zoysia VS TifTuf Bermuda – TifTuf Bermuda is a very strong competitor to Sir Grange Zoysia grass. They compete with each other where the other lacks. TifTuf is an extremely heat and drought tolerant variety, whereas Sir Grange is far more tolerant with shade and can handle heat and drought. TifTuf would take the crown for fast repairing and wear tolerance over Sir Grange but must have the appropriate amount of sun per day.

Days 7-14

  • IF TURF PULLS UP – Watering twice daily, giving your new lawn a good soak.
  • IF TURF WON’T PULL UP – Watering every morning.

After First Mow

  • Watering once every 2nd day or as required preferably in the morning.

TIP: Whenever you finish a watering cycle, dunk a tea towel in water and hang it on the clothes line. Once the towel is dry, your lawn is ready for another drink.

The information provided above is a guide ONLY, please consider your current climate, weather conditions & temperatures when using this guide.

During the first two to three weeks, avoid walking on your new lawn. This allows the root system to firmly knit with the underlay and ensures that the turf will remain smooth and free from lumps & bumps.

Giving your lawn its first mow can be done once you can no longer lift any of the turf slabs. Depending on the turf varieties, this could be as little as 7 days! When giving your lawn its initial mow complete this on a slightly higher setting than normal and slowly bring it down to your preferred height.

Lawn Care – Apply Lawn Solutions Fertiliser in 6-8 weeks to finish off the establishment period.
